Mastering the Hypotheticals

We’ve been talking a lot about leadership because that’s what it takes to move people and create change. One person can’t create nearly as much change as a group and groups need a leader.

Leaders need to display two unique characteristics; sight and vision. Sight is the ability to see things for what they are and not just what’s on the surface. Vision is the ability to see what’s coming and what might be coming. A leader can’t lead without knowing which direction to go next.

This is why leaders are masters of hypotheticals. They have the ability to see what could be and move in that direction. Let’s all do an exercise in leadership skills. If you read this, please participate in the comments section. Hypothetically, what is one thing you would like to change in the world – one problem you would like to solve or group of people you would help – and, hypothetically, how would you encourage people to help you in your cause? Don’t ever be afraid of vision. It’s not daydreaming, it’s looking forward.

  1. I would never want to know what cats were thinking. I’m sure it’s smug and arrogant. I absolutely agree, though. There’s so much good that could be done if we didn’t waste time and effort staying separated. Being in the communication business, do you see a lot of similarity between this problem and the the general problem with communications in business? It seems like people just don’t understand how poorly they are communicating or how important it is until someone points it out.

If we could Hypothetically change one thing in the world it would be to give animals and plants the ability to speak and communicate with people or to time travel (LOL). But seriously, The one problem we would like to solve is the lack of communication between the Christian denominations in order to empower believers to successfully reach the lost and lead them to Christ. To get people interested and willing to help us in our cause we would share the Words of God with those who will listen and we would teach them how to use their own God given abilities and gifts to reach the lost, nurture the babes in Christ, and grow in wisdom, understanding and faith…
